Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, the first step to creating great Reels is having a plan. 🙌
When I was first starting out, I didn't know what to do.
So instead of worrying about what my reel should look like, I focused on:
👉 What it was going to say
👉 What was the message I wanted to send?
👉 How could I best communicate that message using visuals?
Once you've got your answer in mind, it's time to put pen to paper or hit record and start capturing your inspiration!
The best part about this process?
Once you've got everything set up and ready to go, you actually start to build momentum lessening your fear or anxiety (of anything that goes with showing up online).
Here are three EASY STEPS to create REEL content within an hour!
1️⃣ Check the Reels section to get inspiration/audio ideas
There are tons of creative and entertaining content in this section that can give you ideas for your own Reels.
Take some time to explore the Reels section on Instagram and see what other creators are posting.
Here are some steps to help you get started:
◾ Set your alarm to 15 minutes.
◾ Create a folder in your Instagram, if you haven't yet, so you can save the reel audios/inspiration.
◾ As you watch the reels, write down any ideas that might come up.
◾ Within 15 minutes, you might get at least 3-5 ideas or sometimes even more!

2️⃣ Record yourself or use any videos you consider a *B-roll footage
When creating a reel, using B-roll footage can add depth and interest to your content.
B-roll footage is typically used to provide context, establish location, or show the passage of time. Some examples are:
sceneries
any behind-the-scenes that you're comfortable showing and sharing (it doesn't have to have your face in it!)
Here are some tips to consider when using B-roll footage in your reel:
◾ Set your alarm to 25 minutes.
◾ Record yourself with the audio, use filters if you like, and save the video so you can use it for another topic in the future!
◾ When recording a Reel with your chosen audio + any texts you've added, always save a copy to your device as a backup.
◾ Follow the same thing when you choose to add a video instead of your own recording.
◾ Save the Reel so you can easily go back to it in your Reel drafts once it's time to review.
By incorporating B-roll footage into your reel, you can create a more dynamic and engaging piece of content that captures your viewers' attention and tells a compelling story.
3️⃣ Review and finalize your Reel content
Before you post your content:
👉 Take a few minutes to review it.
👉 Make sure everything is in order and that your message is clear.
👉 If necessary, make any final edits or adjustments.
Here are some tips to help you with this process:
◾ Set your alarm to 20 minutes.
◾ Now that you're done recording or choosing a video that will go with specific audio, give yourself enough time to review and polish any detail you might've missed!
◾ This will help ensure that your content is polished and ready to share with your target audience.

By following these steps, you can plan and create Reel content within an hour. On your first try, you might have at least 3 reel content.
On your second try, maybe 5. Until you reach 10 content ideas within an hour! 🙌
📌 The goal here isn't just to mass-produce reel content BUT to help you have a sustainable system when planning and creating high-quality content for your target audience.
